Aspects of Light

If you attended our premiere concert in November, you know that AWE presents a not-to-be-missed opportunity to experience exciting choral music!

Our exploration of compositions for women's voices continues this spring, with a program designed to celebrate Aspects of Light. We'll sing of moonlight and starlight, sunrise and sunset, and the enlightening of the human spirit.

The centerpiece of the concert, a contemporary three-piece setting of stunning Inuit/Eskimo texts which speak of the importance of seeing the light of the world in all things, features the unique combination of women's voices, piano, and alto saxophone

Our program will also include ancient chant, traditional American works, compositions written for the rabble-rousers of the women's suffrage movement, and lots more!

I have seen dawn and sunset on moors and windy hills, coming in beauty like slow old tunes. -John Masefield (b. 1878)
